Looking Good - Bellevue #3

Stopped raining early this morning.
Sun still hidden, but
Bellevue shines clean.

Not much hanging out action now.
The cold lake wind keeps people
inland, behind the hills

My favorite old soldier is back,
sporting a deep tan and fresh scars.
Tells me he spent the summer high
in the Alps tending sheep.
Asks hopefully about a place to crash.

The "For Sale" sign he wore
around his neck all last year is gone.
Instead, a bright red card
with fat white letters reads:

"For Rent with option to buy"

We didn't talk about it.
